A hundred splendid tables graced up the dimly lit dining room. Exquisitely decorated to the finest details, the hotel awaited footfalls. Warm oshibori towels sat quietly at the edges, all set to refresh the potential visitors .
The kitchen itself was abuzz with activity. Delicacies were ready, waiting to be served. Vegetables were already boiled, to dish up that quick meal. Sparkling water stood silent in the refrigerator, all ready to quench the thirst.
Just one thing was extremely striking. In spite of all the preparations, the entire dining hall was stark empty.
And a few miles away, stomachs roared - with hunger.
