Twenty Four Hours

The room was pitch dark,
Reverberating my life stark.

The rain was pelting,
Raising questions unrelenting.

Tossed and wobbled in bed,
Only to sleep like a rock.

Woke up counting the number of hours left,
The answer twelve left me in a shock.

Expected them to pass in a jiffy,
Time only proved me wrong.

The loneliness left me empty,
Only to make the solitariness more strong.

Love came for near ones,
Calmness came from far lands.

Tried to think further,
Only to feel my mind dark.
